Project Overview
Órale! Sapores is a personal project exploring motion-led advertising for a Mexican restaurant brand. The concept originated from a flyer and menu design, with this advert acting as an extension of that visual identity.
The project was driven by the belief that Mexican cuisine is often underrepresented in a city as culturally diverse as London. The aim was to celebrate bold flavours, colour, and energy through a short-form advert that feels impactful and memorable.

Objective
The goal was to create a short, punchy promotional video that would appeal to both fans of Mexican food and a broader UK audience.
To achieve this, the advert highlights three menu items:
- Beef Enchiladas
- Chicken Burgers
- Gigante Steak Tacos
Including the chicken burger was a deliberate choice, helping the menu feel accessible to more traditional customers while still celebrating Mexican flavours.

Motion & Visual Approach
The video opens with the three menu items split and sliced into frame using red and green, with subtle white accents , colours chosen to reference the Mexican flag and communicate variety. A brief pause allows each item to be clearly showcased, giving viewers time to understand what the restaurant offers.
The sequence then transitions using fire effects into a darker, fiery environment. Menu item text appears engulfed in flame, reinforcing associations between food, heat, and intensity. Each item enters with a sharp, impactful motion to add drama and memorability.
A second fire transition introduces the price point of £8.99, framed as affordable and inviting. Subtle ember sound effects accompany this moment to enhance realism and atmosphere. The advert concludes with a final transition revealing the Órale! Sapores logo, tying the sequence back to the brand identity.

Sound & Tone
Rock music was chosen to support the bold, energetic tone of the advert, helping it feel direct, confident, and attention-grabbing. The combination of music and sound effects was designed to make the piece feel lively and distinctive without overwhelming the visuals.

Outcome & Learnings
This project allowed me to explore how motion, colour, sound, and pacing can work together to create a memorable food-led advert. It strengthened my understanding of short-form motion storytelling and how to translate static branding into dynamic promotional content.
